Prayer Requests (25 May 08)

Hi girls, it was great meeting all of you againn. I hope you girls will share more on this blog AND definitely on sundays as well!

Denise Hong- for her friend, Jie Ying, to be a Christian

Joylynn- for her Guides Camp, and for her dance performance coming up

Alison- for her unsaved relatives to receive Christ, and for her production coming up in june.

Denise Lee- Sports Camp and for her friend Florence as well.

Yuih Yin- Gym training which is very tiring and painful, and for God to heal her toes which she used to do points thather friend taught her.

Honestly, I thought the prayer session we had together this sunday was wonderful- I felt like the Spirit has taken us to a deeper level with one another, and hopefully even through things like these, we can come together closer as caregroup, bringing and supporting each other through life in the Lord's house.

Challenge you to bring more of your friends to church, even as two of you have asked for friends/relatives to be saved. It takes action and definitely more so prayer to get them to know Christ. Above all, God's own timing, definitely.

Have a greatt week ahead girls!

A Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3:1-14

A Time for Everything

1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

9 What does the worker gain from his toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on men. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. 13 That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.

And then God spoke to me in this tongue, telling me that there's a time for everything, good and bad and whichever it is, whether he showers us with abundant blessings or lays us with burdens, God is good and His goodness will rein through eternity. For the natural disasters, perhaps so that the eyes of Man will be opened to the spiritual and not only on their own works on earth- that life is so much more than climbing the social/economical ladder, but really what God is.

So girls, wherever you are at your season right now, be thankful and praise God, for He has the greatest and most perfect plans for you, which you will be able to see in due time, as long as you stay with and walk closely with Him!(: As we will as a group, yeahh?(:

on my prayer life this week

Hey girls,

Just wanted to log in a mid-week entry to perhaps encourage you girls to blog about your experiences, life and activities and stuff. Maybe things you've prayed and God has blessed you with, or things you've prayed and God hasn't and perhaps you realised why..etc.

For myself personally, this week so far or rather the past days hasn't been the best, not because of the physical things around me but more of the thoughts in my head, God vs the world and all. It's complicated, this world! And I strongly encourage you girls to plant your seeds into the ground now- Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:1-23), you have alot to face even as this world is developing, people dying (cyclone, quakes etc). Choose to be the seed that falls upon the good soil hearing the word and understanding it- and then producing a crop, yielding hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. COMEON!(:

One thing to note: never never doubt that God is good and God is real and alive okay! Because He's there- for eternity whether you like it or not. I used to doubt as a younger Christian, about the reliability of the bible, whether God/ Jesus is real and things like that, but everytime I looked at the elder people who prayfully served the churchfor a few decades, I am encouraged. I mean, if God didnt exist, they wouldnt be still in church serving and firmly knowing that God is there right?

This (the watching of elders) is only based on human sight but there are definitely evidences of all these (bible, God) that substantiates our faith. Jesus did exist definitely and He did die and He wasn't found in the tomb and He really was seen by thousands. All these ain't no myths or stories from a storybook named the Holy Bible, they are facts upon which you can know inside God did come down, and then- go search for God in prayer, petition, thanksgiving, adoration.

I just simply want to tell you girls now of facts and we'll go deeper in those things (evidences)next time. (I will share more on this if we have time in future, do bring up your questions in class if you have any cuz I might not have been too clear here)

Our walk is going to be tough, no one said it's gonna be easy- so stand firm in your faith so that no strong wind of Satan's will be able to topple us all! Chocolate Bananas here we comee!(:

As for me, this week I really am learning to draw a huge amount of strength from God to supply not only my needs but even in ministry to others around me. It's rough choppy waves coming my way as I see it, but it's God glorified amidst all this, definitely.
